| A very nicely told tale. The historical detail seems right, though I can't claim to know enugh to be able to tell. Apparently the reason for the houses getting wider as they went up was that taxes were based on the building's footprint. I notice in your reply to Selene that you said you were glad no one worked it out before the slayer turned up. Oops! The bits in the first chapter that made me think vampire were the use of the word patriarch rather than father and also the fact that Marie speaks of today's London as if she knows it. It's very well done altogether, though and I think the fact that the hints are there is a good thing, but if you want to delete my big mouth comment at the end of Chp 1 so it doesn't give it away for everyone else, feel free.. | |||
